polder

The label polder was created by two sisters, Madelon Lanteri-Laura and Natalie Vodegel.

Madelon and Natalie were born and grew up in the Netherlands. They spent their childhood living in an area where forested hills overlooked polders that stretched out as far as the eye could see.

At the age of 19, Madelon went to study in Paris where she was joined by Natalie a few years later.

In Paris, they both studied archeology and history of art at Paris University and at the Ecole du Louvre.

Madelon and Natalie then both started working with fashion designers including Anne Marie Beretta, Marcel Marongiu and Hermès.

Polder was created in 2000 and the debut collection was presented in January 2001 at the trade show “Première Classe” in Paris. Since then, the handbag collection has been complemented by a line of jewellery, hand made knitwear, shoes, clothing and socks.

In January 2008, they presented their first kid’s accessories collection “April showers by polder” at the Playtime fair in Paris.

From the very beginning, hand made components, which bring a unique and artisan quality to the collection, have been highly significant in polder’s creations.

Shapes are extremely pure, the work is focused on the research for prints and materials, colours and finish aim at creating a visually strong and acknowledgable product. The collections are a mix of a Nordic spirit, with a French touch of vintage

Pina

Good morning!!

Today I'm going with my friend Sophie to Pina the (dance) Movie @ Tuschinski.

The trailer looks very good:

PINA is a feature-length dance film in 3D with the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, featuring the unique and inspiring art of the great German choreographer, who died in the summer of 2009.
PINA is a film for Pina Bausch by Wim Wenders.
He takes the audience on a sensual, visually stunning journey of discovery into a new dimension: straight onto the stage with the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch ensemble, he follows the dancers out of the theatre into the city and the surrounding areas of Wuppertal - the place, which for 35 years was the home and centre for Pina Bausch's creativity.
